In partnership with Arlene Shrut, The Defiant Requiem Foundation will perform a version of Defiant Requiem with the entire orchestral score performed by piano & solo violin with mixed chorus and soloists. This version pays homage to the performances in Terezin in 1943-1944 when the prisoner chorus had only a piano to accompany them.
Source Song Festival re-imagines the song festival by not only delivering fresh and innovative concerts, recitals and masterclasses, but more importantly by empowering and inspiring a new generation of musicians- composers, performers and audience members alike- through the creation of new works, the initiating of conversation, and the fostering of relationships within Minnesota’s vibrant community.
